AFHIL, the Mutual Fund, confirmed once again, on the 26th of February 2020 that it encourages and supports the Armenian college and university students to follow their dreams and to reach their goals, by organizing a gathering that is held at Aztag’s “Punig” Hall in Bourj Hamoud, during which 142 university students and 120 college students received their scholarships. From a total of 150 million L.L. Armenian institutions received grants, too.
Honored guests, college principles, parents and students were present at this gathering.
In her opening speech, Christine Tanyelian talked about how AFHIL has been founded, then she reflected upon AFHIL’s accomplishments and visions.
General Manager of AFHIL Mr. Hagop Ladoyan first presented the brief history of AFHIL, then, said that inspite of the economic crisis in Lebanon, this year too, AFHIL will continue its grants to college and university students. “With the principle of “Born from people to serve people”, AFHIL’s grant, although humble, yet, it will be a hopeful and useful initiative for college and university students”, said Ladoyan.
ARF chairman and MP Hagop Pakradouni drew a similarity between oasis and AFHIL, by saying that people look for AFHIL like one that looks for oasis in the desert. Then, he highly appreciated AFHIL’s role and activity in the Lebanese Armenian community’s development and empowerment.
At the end of the gathering, the college and university students, as well as representatives of the Armenian institutions, received their grants from AFHIL.
