Increase in workload of the heart: high temperatures can cause blood vessels to dilate, which temporarily lowers blood pressure.
For people with cardiovascular disease, it can be dangerous because of the possible decrease in blood flow to the heart and other vital organs.
Risk of cardiovascular disease: People with pre-existing conditions (for example, high blood pressure or coronary artery disease) have a higher risk of complications. Symptoms can become severe and increase the likelihood of heart attacks.
Dehydration: In hot weather, the risk of dehydration is high, especially if a person does not drink enough liquid. It can cause blood clotting, increase the risk of overloading the heart and thrombosis.
Precautions to avoid complications:
- Avoid physical exertion in the heart
- Wear light and loose clothing and stay in cool places as much as possible
- Consult a doctor about additional precautions
