The green tea has the substance which blocks the enzyme for the growth of cancer cells, International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition reported referring to the study.
According to RIA Novosti, the scientists have analyzed 16 studies on anti-cancer properties of plant ingredients to find the connection between regular consumption of green tea and low risk of breast cancer.
Thus, the green tea has ECGC – a polyphenol that fights oxidative stress and blocks the enzyme for growth of cancer cells. However, it only shows a positive effect only against breast cancer.
Scientists urge to take into account the fact that they have analyzed the studies of Asian scientists, while they consume nearly ten cups of green tea per day in Asia.
