People may need to wear face coverings and socially distance for several more years. The head of immunization at Public Health England, Mary Ramsay, made this prediction.
According to BBC, the expert said that people have gotten used to wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. These measures also allow the economy to function, unlike more restrictive measures such as lockdown.
“So I think certainly for a few years, at least until other parts of the world are as well vaccinated as we are, and the numbers have come down everywhere, that is when we may be able to go very gradually back to a more normal situation,” Ramsay said.
